How To Sell Yourself Online

First of all I would like to mention, that this article is not based on my own experience only, but on some research I did in forums and ezines also.

There are many reasons why it is very difficult to succeed online, but most of the time, people do succeed in spite of having the odds stacked against them.

One of the most important elements for success online is to have an unstoppable mindset. The people who succeed in their online home business are always having a higher desire to success as compared to others.

.
One of the important factors to success online is to sell YOURSELF online.

If you don’t do that, you will never make it big online.

Here is why...

You can compare the Internet is to a large ocean. If you have a website, it means nothing. A website without traffic or a good brand is like Robbie Williams singing in his backyard without any audience. His songs are great, but if nobody notice him, how can he be famous and a born entertainer? The later one is what he wants you to believe... His way to sell himself!

So how do you sell yourself online?

Always focus on your strengths and talk about them often!
People respect authority and strength. So if you promote your strengths, people will take notice of you. What are you good at? Writing? Networking? Coaching? Let everyone know about it. This is you. If you do not believe in yourself, you cannot expect other people to believe in you.

Always give more than you receive!
People who are giving more than what is expected will also receive a lot! When people see in you a giver, you will gain a lot of followers and people will listen to you. Take a blog for example... when you talk to people about how to sell online, giving away a lot of free tips, this will help to brand yourself as an expert and people will come back for more information and tips!

Do not hesitate to promote yourself whenever you have a chance!
People who promote themselves, their own or affiliate products and programs dynamically and with a pinch of aggressiveness will always outdo the hesitant once. If you are afraid to promote yourself or your products whenever you have a chance, you will not succeed!

By understanding these principles, you will get your foothold on the net!

How do you sell yourself online? Would be pleased to hear from you.

Many times, we get likes but no comments, that's all right, you don't want a bunch of "great info", "interesting article", and their myriad of variations. :)

@ Philippe: Thanks for reminding me. Had in mind to do it on all my articles.
@ Liz: I would go so far as to allege, that branding yourself is more important than the size of your list. With branding your list will grow on "autopilot". So to speak.
@ Malok: Thanks for your comment. Believe in yourself, show selfconfidence. But never get too proud of yourself! I think you know that already. I did as Philippe and added some tags. Thanks for the reminder!

Eric, don't forget to edit this article to add tags, cause as you can see, you still get new readers, but they can't "like" it without branding tags. :)

You probably already know this. I wrote the comment for the benefit of other members too.

Internet Marketer

I like your article Eric. It is simple to understand and easy to implement for whoever desires to do so. The rule of marketing is what you have outlined in your article; make a lot of noise about what you have while playing down on what you do not yet have. That's what most of us are doing here on the internet and at APSense.

Thanks Cindy for your kind words.
I agree with you when you say what works for some doesn't work for others.
Everybody has to find its own way to promote itself

Eric I loved your post.
All that you say is true.
Mind set is so important.
This is something that we should all be working on DAILY!

I have heard it said if you don't promote yourself... who will?
I see people promoting themselves here at APSense in several ways.
What works for some does not work for others.
We all have to find what works best for US!!!!
I find that under the radar approach works out best for me.

I will be looking forward to your next post

Thanks to all of you for all the constructive comments. Makes me feel like writing the next article right away.
A special thanks to Joseph for tweeting this article with the "magic" words "Networking Champs". Saw your tweet on Twitter! If you like to post this article on your blog, go ahead!
And to Sergio: If this article helped you in the way you posted your new product and to get a commission, then it fully reached its purpose. I'm happy for you!

Great article. It reminds me of a very small but very powerful saying that is found in all the major faiths of the world: Ask and you shall receive. Your article teaches us how to effectively " Ask."

Hey Eric,

This bit was the most precious one to me:

"...and with a pinch of aggressiveness will always outdo the hesitant"

It's very easy when people believe in themselves and this is the absolute best time for me to prove it:

I just put up a post on my personal blog about a new product out there (pretty good product btw but that's not the point) and I published it at 4:00am yesterday and I already got a commission from it.

Why? I stopped caring and taking everything so seriously.

Eric, believe me, the two words "Networking Champs" work like wonder. Just add them (without the quotes) before your tweets!
