I had my fun for today!
I learned about MySearchDial the hard way. It seems that it piggybacks onto your computer as you install some program you want and then it's a nightmare to get rid of. Of course they offer you some free software to detect it, but you pay $29.95 to use it to delete the malware.
DON'T FALL FOR THAT!
All I did was stumble through my own fix and it worked.
First I used Add Remove Programs as some websites suggested, but there was nothing there. Then I use the Add On page for Firefox and Chrome to delete everything that had to do with MySearchDial.
Then changed all the Search Engine defaults back to Google.
Finally I searched in about:config for the term MySearchDial and changed all the entries to blank fields.
So far it looks like it all worked, but just for good measure I started using Comodo Dragon as my browser, since it was the only one they were not able to infect.
Of course the last resort is to reformat your hard drive and reinstall everything (UGGGH!)
If this helps even one person to avoid what I had to go through, it was worth it.
