What is an Opp. Hopper?

Do you know what a Opp. Hopper is?

An Opp. Hopper is a person that hops from one opportunity to another. Opp. Hoppers are looking for the golden ticket and never stay in one opportunity long enough to see success to the end.

Yesterday I commented on a facebook post about working more than one opportunity and I commented on it. Then today I read a response to the entire post that made me look at what i was doing. The response read, "Looking at this from a different perspective...Would you rather sign-up under a leader 100% committed to a company, or one who was involved in several?"
I never thought about it this way

I was looking at my profile today and was reading some comments on my posts and a friend woke me up to the realization that I myself am an Opp. Hopper. I am sorry friends but it is true I have been working my butt off in two different opportunities this passed month and feel ashamed.

It seems to me that I have been preaching to others to build their credibility rankings and I myself have not been listing to my own advice. Hopping from opportunity to opportunity is not good for anyones credibility I for one should know this. I feel I have let my friends down especially for those who have invested in me to help build their TEAM.

I am not going to list the opportunities I am involved with or the people that shed some light on my own wrong doing. But I will say this, I am going to fix this issue by sticking with one opportunity and seeing it through. This honesty may hurt my credibility ranking but I am an honest person even in the articles I write. I am giving my word that I will fix this so that everyone comes out on top and no one will feel they have been betrayed. Mistakes are meant to be made so we can learn from them and move on.  If no one made mistakes no one would learn a thing. I hope you will learn from my mistake and not become an OPP. Hopper. Find one you believe in, trust in and run with it. Give it at least 2 years because daddy always told me that it take 2 years to find out if a business is going to work or fail.

With that being said I hope that everyone whom I have let down will forgive me and understand that I am only human. I am here to help if you can find it in your heart to forgive.

It's All Up to YOU! Act NOW!

@ Paula and Lonnie hang in there my friends. Don't let the "dream stealers" de-rail your efforts. Beleive in yourself. Remember, Colonel Sanders created Kentucky Fried Chicken because he was told the road going past his gas station was goining to become an 4 lane interstate highway with tons of traffic. It didn't happen, they sent the highway through a different part of town. What did he do, complain and quit? No, he moved his whole operation to the new highway.

@Paula my wife is the same way. She doesn't think making money online will work but has no problem spending it before I can reinvest it. I am getting to the point to put the money in a separate account so it can be reinvested. It's funny, when I spend time on the internet to make money she complains but then she will ask when the next paycheck is due. I will not accept that the only way to survive is to work for someone else. I refuse to believe that a JOB is the only way to make money.

@Laura nice that your business is doing well. My husband is not supportive either. He wants me to quit and find an offline job, which i refuse. I have earned some money but reinvested it all. What he does not know since he thinks every penny I spend on it is wasted. He wont listen to arguments und replies to all with "rubish". He will to turn around when I can show him the money.

@Lonnie good luck with your opportunity.

I did not want to make a big fuss about this mistake I made but I guess it needed to be said and heard from others. Their are only two companies that I have truly seen results from and that is from the one I joined under Laura and the other I have had for a while. My problem is not being consistent. It's not that I drop everything and join another because I didn't see results it's because I become friends with people and feel like I can't say no and end up joining. I like helping but my wife tel

@bj... I did the exact same thing. When I started my business, my husband said "you will never sell anything on the internet!". People told me I couldnt do it, and I said "Oh yeah" watch me! I asked my husband to give me 5 years and if it didnt work out, I would quit. When I plopped that first $336. pay check down in front of him 6 months later, he was "eating crow" as he puts it! Now he is my biggest supporter, and works part time with me in my business. Its almost 5 years now, and He will be a

I agree with you all. I was just playing the Devil's Advocate to bring more out of the subject.

Building a business is like growing a garden. You cannot put seeds in the ground today and expect to reap a harvest tomorrow. To grow a garden takes work and constant attention to nurture those seeds into mature plants.

It is the same way with a business. You have to put constant work into nurturing a business, and you won't see results until that business has matured.

@Laura, I have to say I am like you on the time scales.
As you know I have my own business supplying internet services and we started up with a 5 year plan.

We celebrated 6 years on the 5th of April and I am happy to say now a year into our second 5 year plan that will take us through till 2015.

The primary problem is that we are the old guard in an age if instant gratification. The current generation have been brought up to think that they can do what they want, an

5 or 6 months? how about 5 or 6 years? A legitimate business, like any business takes alot longer to build and grow than 5 or 6 months, especailly on the internet. In my case, I didnt even make my first sale with my company for 6 months...but it didnt deter me. I didnt see substantial growth until another year later. This is what I'm talking about. People join these companies and then give up and quit and jump to the next new and great thing, when all they're doing is spinning their wheels. It d

If they have tried for a reasonable length of time and it is not producing any results then yes by all means dump it but be honest with those you brought in and tell them so that they can make a decision as to if they want to stay or not. Its the same s

Its funny but I'll bet that if that person wanted to hop your way you would welcome them with open arms and adjust the true meaning of what an opp hopper really was, letting them know they weren't one.

Lets keep it real and stop playing holier than thou.

@Paul It matters a lot if people are opp hoppers or not. The reason is that if you are trying to get people in your ops then we need to know if you are going to stay with it or just run off to the next one and try to bleed us dry by dragging us after you and giving us no opportunity to earn.

We can do "YOU" if we don't try to sell other members on every opp. we get involved in. But I guess i need to rephrase this article too because when I mean "opportunity hoppers" I am talking about people who get into one network marketing business and then another and then another. I don't believe Affiliate Marketing can be associated as an opportunity because some Affiliate Marketing Programs do not require a fee to join to make money. In fact I believe Affiliate Marketing Programs are a great

Very well said Paul!

Who cares?

The people we recruit care. Opp. Hoping doesn't show leadership if we try to recruit our team to other programs when we feel it is a good opportunity. For example if I recruited you to for say Xango, "not involved just an example", and then 6 months later I came a cross another great Opportunity and i sent you a link to recruit you, then another and another and another. Pretty soon your going to get really tired of me sending you opportunities and do anyth

I'm just curious, who really cares who's an opp. hopper and who isn't? I say everyone has an opinion about your business and that the world would be a much better place if people just minded their own business and stayed in their own lanes.

This is not a defensive rant because I could care less what anybody though I was doing unless you were paying my bills. If you're not an opp hopper then what does it matter what anybody else is doing? After all, its their money they're spending not yours.

WOW! You are all truly blessed and good Apsense friends. you have provided me with some really good advice.

OldBuddy and bjantiques I have seen you two around on some other social sites and I am honored to have your comments on this article.

Laura, I feel I have let some people down and you know who I am talking about. But I promise that I will make it work out.

Katrina, you are a good friend and I enjoy chatting your ear off. Let's stay good friends.

Lonnie you are not an Opp Hopper. They are under-trained, under-educated, and easily fooled. They enter an Opp because of persuasive advertising, waste time on free, non-focused ad sites, get frustrated and spend the rest of their time flaming every forum they find.
