Newbie finally feel like i am getting somewhere

I have been doing Internet Marketing for a few months now. month after month not even getting a single referral for anything i was trying to promote. It left me feeling discouraged..not that i gave up :) I just kept putting the work in and trying different methods. Social networking being one of them. I am finally seeing just a little bit of a differance. I now have a few referrals under me with the latest i have been promoting. I really do think social networking is the way to go. Not only do you meet people from all over the world but their advice can be  most valuable especially to those just starting out, or even to people who have not been in the industry for very long. I recommend social marketing to anyone.
