VIRTUES The courage to stand alone because of what you believe in is the mother of all virtues. For without such courage all other virtues crumble. They break down and fall away. The truly virtuous people in the pages of history have therefore been men and women who will suffer for their beliefs. Joan of Arc, Socrates, Galileo Galilei, Copernicus, Karl Marx, Christopher Columbus, Paul of Tarsus, St Peter and, above all, Jesus Christ. In our own times, we have the iconic Nelson Mandela. It did not matter to these people that the rest of the world isolated them, leaving them to stand alone with their beliefs - Barrack Muluka.
