Selecting The Correct Category For Your Blog

When the apsense team first lauched the blog category sections everyone was thrilled because it was an awesome way to have our blogs promoted and seen more often. Right at the start it was noticed that there were members posting ads in all the categories. So a post was made, in the apsense group, reminding members that the only place that we were to post advertisements was in the classifieds section. It was thought that would have cleared things up, but it hasn't. There are advertisements in all sections, even in the life in general section. These posts are not all being made by new members who have unintentionally posted outside of the classifieds. Some of these are being made by members who have been with apsense for quite awhile. A way to prevent this from happening is currently being worked on, but, in the mean time please edit all blogs with ads attached and live links to the classified section. This will show our respect for the apsense community and show all members that ads have to be posted in the classifieds section as well. Thank you in advance for your cooperation, Lynn

Hi Lynn,

I agree that putting your blog in the right category is an important element in receiving targetted traffic. But, as you well know - we do have a problem with the categories here at ApSense.

I promote my angel workshop on ApSense - but i am stuck with life in General or Classifieds. not a very exciting choice. No ARts and Crafts, Not even an ecommerce group.

I agree with you about the need to get it right - but it would be more helpful if the categories were better thought out.

Maliaam,
We do have a section in our blogs for advertisements. It is the classifieds section. Since advertising in discussions doesn't add to the quality content of apsense, we wish members would not post blatant ads in groups. We have supplied members with a wonderful business center that has many features. They also can publish their center to the exchange. They also have the classifieds in the blog area. And they have their signature where they may promote themselves. The discussions should

True.

All categories where ads should not be, are - forums, blogs, discussions. This goes for almost all social-networks not only apsense.

Welcome! Thank you for asking to make sure. If it is an advertisement, then yes. All ads belong in the classifieds. Take care, Lynn
