What Are We Doing Here Anyways? Really?

I am having a little difficulty figuring out just exactley what APSense really is, what it's going to be? We're a Business Social network..right?  Get paid to Promote your business...used to be "the TOP business social network"  Is it now simply a place to post a profile and some ads?  It seems like there is very little networking taking place.  I mean, if this is just a place to post ads, and people just come here to advertvise...who's gonna read the advertising?  My opinion, if this is simply a place to advertise the words business social network might as well be removed...because it seems like all that is happening is people are joining, setting up a profile, some ads..maybe a blog and then they are gone!  And they never see the REAL potential that some of us know to exist. Perhaps if we took a better look at the words "business social network" it would shed a little light on my issue...as defined by webster's dictionary: Busi-ness:  A persons professional dealings or occupation So-cial: Having to do with people living in groups;  enjoying friendly companionship with others.  n. An informal party or gathering. So-cia-ble:  Capable of friendly social relations;  enjoying the company of others So-cial-ism:  A system in which people as a whole, and not individuals, control and own the property.   Net-work:  A system of interlacing tracks, channels, or lines;  an interconnected system. Okay, so one might assume from the mixing of these works that APSense is a community of Professional People who enjoy communicating with each other, and together OWN the system that has connected us.  Hey, isn't this kinda what forums are all about?  Some others words for forum:  marketplace, court, tribunal, council, symposium, panel, town meeting, Bull Session! Enough of my rambling... I am calling on EVERYONE who is a part of this community to come out and tell us why you are here!  What is it that you like, hate, love....Why are we here and just what are we trying to accomplish??  What makes APSense so special anyways...why should anyone be a part of it? Advertising? Communication? Networking? Tell US!! Tell ME!  I need to know...before I continue to do anything here!

Well, I came here as a total newbie. Figured it would be a good place to learn and I was right.

I have made some very good friends also. that is a bonus. That is what keeps me here.

I think I don't contribute as much as I used to in the beginning because for a while, we got overrun with ads everywhere. And hands up, I was a big offender!!! But we all learn, some of us quickly, some a bit more slowly. Some have the experience and knowledge to pass on, some of us don't.
So we all have thing

Now that i have a spare moment, I'm here because of the people I meet. I have a chance to meet people, help people and educate people. In the process I learn from all of you. Each of us brings something different to the table. Each of us brings something but we take away much more than we bring.

I figure that all of you will get to know me. I don't need to "sell" As you get to know me you'll look into what I have to offer. I don't need to spam or down anyone else. Those are the children

If there is one primary example of how we joined together in friendship and trying to help one another it's in the groups we've formed like Social Bookmarking....we ALL CONTRIBUTED! Same with a few other groups where we all worked together to grow and expand our businesses and ourselves. While I used to think I preferred places like Yuwie and MyLot, I found this site was my first stop every day instead of the others, or the one I made time for when I wasn't feeling good. I truly believe there

Just plain honesty

Why am I here?

In the beginning all was void and then, miraculously came a mighty host borne upon wings of finest gossamer in a sky of truest blue.

And a voice came out of the midst of this mighty host and did say unto me....

"Behold there is a new star in the firmament and you are bid attend and seek there friends, knowledge and converse."

So, I attended. And I saw that it was good.

Apsense is here to be what you want it to be but it it only works well if you are able to see that

Although I have not yet seen the feedback I would like to, it is already evident that there is much more to APSense than advertising as far as some members are concerned. I am still a little confused as to why none of the leaders or more acurately the people behind the creation and management of this community have yet to shed any light on the issue. I understand you guys are probably busy like a lot of community members likely are and as some have stated here in this discussion already. What

Why am I here? To learn and to help mainly. If in the process I make a sale or two, that is all a bonus! My main objective is to help others develop their own online businesses, be it through Affiliate Programs, Resale Products, Memberships or even creating their very own product!
Yes, when I first came in to Apsense, I did as most others have, blatantly posted Sales pitches everywhere and even some hidden in blogs and posts here and there :-)
The way I see it, if someone asks about a topic a

Well, for me. My sponsor brought me into APSense showing me that i can advertise my business. But i realised its more than just that.

APSense is almost simliar to some business forums in my opinion. i believe the reason is that APSense is a BUSINESS social networking site, so many join APSense for the name of BUSINESS. and of course, there are bound to be many black sheeps who would spam and create trouble.

Other social networking site which are just purely for socializing, like Myspace ,

Garnet, you have started a lovely topic . The Big WHY?????

I came here fleeing from a community that had been full of interesting information and interesting people and had turned into one big advertising blog full of petty backbiters and silly online power struggles..

I hoped to find ......... a new community full of interesting information and interesting people and one with a broader base than pure "internet network marketing" (whatever that really is!!) where I could start up an arts and

I am here to learn, earn and pass on whatever I can to others. I like to help and I like to make money.
I do believe that by helping, passing on and building long lasting, honest relationships you will make money as well.
To lead is to give.

I have been very active here and enjoy every moment of it. At the moment I am busy with some re-organization and have been a bit dry with my contribution.

I wish all of us a great close for 2007 with new energy to be utilized in 2008.
Look ahead and buil

Jeunelle..cool down a bit there Rambo kitty! Start another subject about the "blocking" issue, tie it in with judgement or whatever...definetly rates it's own discussion!

Lets keep this focused, some great feedback is starting to trickle in and personally I would like to hear from the ENTIRE Community!

Hi Garnet,
I came into this social network for exactly what it's meant for. To socialise with other business people like-minded or otherwise. Some of us my not be here as often as others. As with most businesses, there are seasonal highs and lows where you may be more involved with your business than taking time out to network. I get here when I can but lately not for as long as i would like.

Ahahahah ... Jeunelle,

what can I tell you? Did I really block you? Naaa, you didn't take my last cookie ... I'm sure! I don't hate you either. Maybe you are just trying tooo hard fucusing attention to yourself instead of trying to create things I may find of value?

Do I have the freedom to do that or is this against the law? :-)

Why am I here? I honestly don't know as I hesitated for the longest time. I really was intimidated by all the "blog" action, but the social aspect intrigued me from the get go. I am really really really tired of mindlessly clicking links, reading e-mails, and surfing for traffic with absolutely NO feed-back what's so ever. I find I am a social person after all and I absolutely love meeting different personalities (and boy are they different) online, reading about different cultures and learn

Well, maybe my suggestion was too long and didn't get posted! :-)

Anyway, I was saying among other things that what we have hear on potential benefits maybe too much for most. It maybe a good idea to have a bit more structure and fewer groups.

How about auctions not just for ad space but other digital products sorted by type of ebook, kind of program, software or script. A social games area maybe good where members get scored and learn about real team work ...

The first thing a lot of membe

Hi Indrit,

This is really so much about the tools we have or don't have, but moreso about what WE AS A COMMUNITY have to offer...is it not driven by people?
