Hello again all. I've been surfing around (using the find-function in upper right corner) subjects about Honor Points (found 2) and Spotlight Score (2 there also). It seem to me that nobody really knows how these are calculated and for what they are granted. If I have understood the Honor Points thing correctly, You get them for things You write... Am I correct? Then they are used to.... Well to what??? The Spotlight Score are gained when You... eh? And used to get Your face shown in the Networking area. Maybe. Please someone with more detailed information, even bits of information, do clear these things out for me. It is annoying seeing Your scores move without knowing why. Thank You Ben

I noticed the Spotlight scores are gone replaced by a top direct network score. I'm wondering what the reasoning is behind the decision. With the spotlight scores people had a chance to be noticed even if they don't have a large APSense down line. Now you are basically going to have a page where the same people will be spotlighted no matter the effort put into the site.

It makes it a bit discouraging for someone with a few people to look at that and realize that you've basically set up a per

This is just like with the worrying about earnings. Add quality content and contribute to the site and the honor points like the money will come.

Interesting question Ben, because, as we can see from the example Lynn gave from the FAQ - it is not clearly set out exactly how they are calculated. It seems to be one point per post on a group or blog plus more points for people joining etc etc - but maybe not!! It is not very specific. As a non mathematician - I have looked at the FAQ several times to see how it works and come away none the wiser!!

However, I am inclined to agree with Arthur that paying too much attention to the points s

Ben and Lynn... thanks for asking and thanks for answering! All along I've been hesitant to ask this questions because it seemed like everybody but me knew the answer and figured I would eventually get it! Now I get it...and in fact I will print this page to refer back to.

Thanks to both,

Hatice

Just plain honesty

Hi, Ben,

Honour Points? Spotlight Scores?

Tell me - what do they matter? If all you are looking to do is create these then you will not be working in the best interest of either yourself or Apsense.

It seems to me that these 'good dog' strokes are appearing far too frequently on social sites and they tend to skew what people would otherwise have done.

To get the most benefit from any social site you need to interact with other members. You need to be giving ideas and opinions, asking

These answers are directly from the faq's. I hope they help.

Our honor points system is designed to rate the quality of all submitted content and its source (users and groups) in the Apsense community. The more honor points a source has, the more trusted it is by the users of the community. It is updated once a day at 2AM CST.

Here is a sample of how Honor Points are calculated:
Member Honor Points = (all your group members + all members in your social network)
Group Honor Points = (al
