Causes of arousal issues
Other reasons behind the lack of sexual arousal may be medication like chemotherapy. Women may lack sexual arousal also because they do not understand how their body works. They do not communicate about what they want to get and their partner may not have good experience in how to arouse them.
There are many subtypes of the problem since it can be onset, acquired, and lifelong. It can be a generalized problem or it can be situational, such as when the problem takes place with a spouse but not with another partner. The type of problem may depend on the cause of the problem. The cause can be sexual trauma or abuse that makes the woman be physically numb. Strict religion can make women feel guilty to have sexual arousal. Negative body image and feeling of embarrassment may interfere with sexual arousal. Mental problems like alcoholism, eating problems, anxiety, and depression may interfere with sexual arousal.
