List a pro and/or con of Social Networking?

Hi all, I have made you all admins of my group so that you have full access & privileges. Please feel free to post whatever topics you desire. Ideas include social networking, mlm, blogging, forums, communities, mystery shopping, online surveys, paid-to sites, network marketing, traffic exchanges, search engine optimization, marketing, advertising, building relationships, sharing ideas, learning things, gaining referrals, etc. How about listing at least one pro and/or con of social networking? I'll go first. A big pro of social networking for me is that you get to make a lot of new friends, meet a lot of interesting people, learn things, share ideas, and have fun. A con is that sometimes you may not know who you are talking to. You may run into a scammer or spammer, someone who may try to steal your identity, send you a virus, or even worse, a stalker! Also, how about sharing a pro and/or con of network marketing. What is working for you? For me, Global Domains International or GDI is going extremely well.
