How To Build Trustworthy Relationships
When we communicate with other people - especially when the discussion is on sensitive issues – it happens that the way we argue is not necessarily the way other people argue. We each look at the world with our own pair of glasses ; glasses that come out of our own unique background and conditioning experiences, and that create our value system, our expectations, our implicit assumptions about the way the world is and the way it should be.
We must change our way of thinking if we want to be creative forces of our own lives in order to produce a positive balance of trust with other persons.
During our inter-actions, we either make deposits by proactively doing things that build trust in the relationship, or make withdrawals by reactively doing things that decrease the level of trust. The balance of trust in the account determines how well we communicate and solve problems with other persons.
When the balance of trust is highly positive, synergy is built with our interlocutors. Synergy is this magic sensation that happens when one plus one equals three, the third or better alternative that is generated from the interaction between people.
