BASEBALL LEGEND BARRY BONDS TO MAKE DEBUT AT COLUSA CASINO'S CELEBRITY GOLF TOURNAMENT

Bonds Joins Other Retired Pro Athletes at 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Tournament

September 16, 2015 (Colusa, CA) – Former San Francisco Giant and Home Run King, Barry Bonds will join the roster of celebrities at this year's Celebrity Golf Tournament hosted by Colusa Casino Resort on September 25th (www.ccrcelebritygolf.com).

Bonds joins a group of former professional athletes,including Sacramento Kings Alumni Doug Christie and Harold Pressley, San Francisco 49ers Alumni and Super Bowl Champion Dwight Clark, Oakland Raiders Alumni and Super Bowl Champions Raymond Chester and Cliff Branch, Dallas Cowboys Alumni Craig Morton along with Professional Long Drive Entertainer Damien Payne and many more. The 3rd annual tournament raises money for the Yuba-Sutter United Way.

Last year's golf tournament raised over $50,000 for the local agency that supports Yuba, Sutter and Colusa County. The 2015 event tees off on September 25th at Peachtree Golf and Country Club in Marysville, CA.

Bonds is considered to be one of the greatest baseball players of all time, receiving seven NL MVP awards and 14 All-Star selections. He played 22 seasons in Major League Baseball with the Pittsburgh Pirates and the San Francisco Giants. Bonds was drafted by the Pirates as the sixth overall pick in 1985. In 1993 Bonds signed with the San Francisco Giants, following in his father and godfather's (Willie Mays) footsteps,where he would spend the next 15 seasons and retired with in 2007.

Bonds' philanthropic efforts include, founding The Barry Bonds Family Foundation in 1993 with a mission to encourage, promote and fund programs designed to improve the educational achievements, standards of living and quality of conditions for African-American youth within the Bay Area communities. Other programs supported include the Barry Bonds Bone Marrow Campaign to Celebrate Life, The Field O' Dreams Project for Marin City and AASK America, which is a special-needs adoption program that helps increase the number of children who receive permanent homes. The Barry Bonds Family Foundation is also a large supporter of the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

Golfers and celebrities at the tournament will enjoy a Fresh Cigar Bar, Build Your Own Bloody Mary Bar, a complimentary Stretching and Mobilization Station, Games on the Course and a Golf Exhibition by GOLF WEEKS 2013 Golf Entertainer of the Year Brad Denton.

After the tournament, golfers and celebrities are welcomed back to Colusa Casino Resort for an Awards Banquet and Dinner, featuring live music, silent and live auction, and a raffle.
