Ticket Seller Says Zola Jesus Fans Better Act Quickly if They Want to See Her
Zola Jesus, one of the most exciting electropop artists to come around in a while, has become so popular with her fans that it's almost impossible to get tickets to see her live. “We're amazed at how fast tickets to her shows are selling," says a spokesman from ConcertBank, an online ticket seller. “The show she's doing later this month is almost sold out, and her only other scheduled performance isn't scheduled until June of next year, and it's on the verge of selling out."
It's not as if her fans have ever had an easy time seeing the pop star. In 2013, the Russian-American pop star was scheduled to play at the Smithsonian, and the unlucky fans who had worked so hard to get tickets to the sold out show ended up disappointed because the government shutdown closed the museum, and the show was cancelled.
The next year, the popular singer appeared at the Hirshhon in order to help them kick off their 40th year anniversary party. Jesus, who has also played at the Guggerheim Museum of Modern Art in New York City, says that she loves playing in museums because they're so inspiring.
Jesus fans say they love to listen to her voice because it's so wide ranging. She is an electropop artist for sure with Goth influences, but she's also been an opera lover since age seven, and that booming characteristic finds its way into her music.
Jesus released her first full length album, Spoils, this year all by herself and that will make finding tickets to her shows even more difficult. “What's worse," says the ticket seller, “is that she is mostly touring in Europe this year. Fan in the U.S. will only have two chances to see her, and both shows are very near selling out."
Jesus' first performance will be at the Midpoint Music Festival on September 25, and according to the ticket seller, there are only a handful of tickets left. The second performance will be held in June of next year at the Firefly Music Festival at the Woodlands of Dover International Speedway in Dover, Delaware. “As of right now, we only have 79 tickets left for that show," says the spokesman.
“Fans who want to see this rising star have to act quickly," says the spokesman. “Because we don't know when Zoe Jesus will tour again in the U.S."
