Cornwall Wedding Photographer Launches Reportage Style Service
Former Reuters photographer James Darling is bringing his unique photojournalist approach to the south west with the launch of his reportage style wedding photography service in Cornwall.
The acclaimed photographer has introduced the new service to give couples a natural, authentic alternative to the traditional posed wedding photos offered by other photographers.
As part of this service James Darling draws on his journalistic experience to capture special moments which naturally occur during the wedding day.
James Darling commented: “Instead of directing posed images and trying to herd people into unnatural scenes, I like to blend into the background as if I'm one of the guests. This makes everyone more relaxed, and then I'm there with my camera ready to capture those special moments as they happen."
James Darling began his photographic career in the Royal Marines, where he learnt to document events as they unravelled. He later studied photography at the University of Westminster and graduated with an MA in Photojournalism.
After a three year stint at Reuters, James relocated to Cornwall and decided to use his unique documentary style to offer a fresh approach to wedding photography.
“Weddings are, by their nature, highly emotionally charged", said Mr Darling. “Great wedding photography captures all that emotion, action, excitement and fun, so that as a newly married couple you have a record of what really happened, how you really felt on that amazing day, forever. This is why I love photographing weddings."
Reportage style wedding photography, otherwise known as photojournalism or documentary photography, has become increasingly popular over the last few years as more couples seek a more natural way of documenting their special day.
Mr Darling added: “I take a natural approach to wedding photography. I blend in with guests and photograph unobtrusively in the background. The result is authentic photographs. Photographs that look and feel real – because they are real."
