Blog Idea for Non-Bloggers
I read an interesting article by Bruce Bates this morning that I didn't completely agree with, but it really got me thinking. See the article at: http://unlimited-free-traffic.com/guru
I do agree that owning your own Internet Real Estate is extremely beneficial, but it can be as simple and inexpensive as your own blog. Seriously, all my latest blog cost me was $10 a year to register the domain name and $1 a month to host a WordPress (free) blog of my own. http://WhyTrafficSwirl.com
The hosting I have used for several years now (Don't Be Afraid Of The Name) is NoSupportLinuxHosting.com and they provide all I need for a WordPress blog including a one click install. You can get help by searching YouTube for free and likewise many plugins and themes to enhance it are freely available.
The obvious point I missed for a long time was, you do NOT need to be a Guru to achieve this goal. I was having some success with a website I use to promote my agenda and learned a few tricks to make it work better. Keep in mind, this was NOT my website, I just used it as a customer. Then I started realizing, as an active user I came up with new little useful tricks every day or so, BINGO! Why not share these little tricks with other people who use (or would like to use) the same website?
I have already gone a lot further with this Blog than the dozens of Blogs I previously started and let languish for lack of ideas. Not only time will tell if I can keep this going, but for a couple of bucks a month I have already made some excellent contacts and that beats paying for advertising.
Don't overlook the fact you can build a subscriber list that beats one you build by giving away some ebook. If you do a decent job with your blog they will be around for a long time and actually read your emails.
Do you have any resources you really count as favorites?
P.S. Leave me a good comment here just to prove Bruce was not entirely right.
