Paradise - Where have we gone wrong?
Paradise
We sit in front of our technology each day,
Making money in any which way.
Little do we think of those less fortunate than
ourselves,
That scrounges around for mere morsels of bread that
fall from bakery shelves.
Stop and think for once, of those that we walk over
day by day night by night,
They too deserve to be part of this Paradise.
A young boy sits next to the road dying,
He has not had food for weeks and weeks but he is not
crying.
People walk past him and spit at him as if he is
trash,
How can we allow him in our society, how can we give
him our cash?
He will not last too long as he is too weak and basic
functions are no longer,
In our Paradise how do we allow such “people” to get
stronger?
We are supposed to be the “next Generation”, that is
supposed to feel for others?
We are nothing but greedy Martians, that do not
qualify to be called human beings.
Our noses are stuck in the air and our eyes are
directly ahead of us.
We will not look around in case we need to part with
some cash.
We are pathetic in every single way, no sign of
empathy anywhere on our beings.
We have no place, being here in Paradise.
Never before have I seen such a show of disgust,
On the faces who witnessed this boy lying in the dust.
He is close to his last breath and still he is pushed
father away in despair,
Never in his short life, has he ever had a pair of
shoes to wear.
So take your pompous attitudes, your money and titles
and get out,
You do not belong in Paradise, as you are loveless.
