Scissors is the most essentials tool for any crafting. If you want to get more out of you scissors, then proper care is needed. Here are some caring tips to care your favorable tools in working condition:

1. Always try to use the correct item for the task at hand.  The right tool insures optimum performance.

2. Avoid putting your scissors or shears in a place where they may be knocked off the work surface and fall to the floor. Dropping almost always damages the cutting edges. Return your scissors or shears to a protective sheath or case when not in use.

3. Take care in placing your pins to keep them out of the way of the cutting

4. Maintain the good feel and smooth cutting action of your scissors or shears by carefully wiping the inside surfaces of the blades free of accumulated lint.

5. At the end of every week we suggest cleaning as above and then applying a drop or two of good quality scissor oil, and/or shear lubricant, around the pivot screw. Apply this with the shears open. Then gently wiggle the blades to allow the lubricant to reach the washer and deep into your pivot screw. Wipe any excess down the blades. Close the blades and store safely in a holster, case or pouch.

6. Do not use your scissors or shears for cutting paper. Instead select one of the items recommended for this purpose such as our paper scissors or craft scissors.

7. Do not clean your shears in the dishwasher! Instead, wash them by hand and then carefully dry them.

8. Close your shears and store them safely in a case, holster, or pouch.
