Procrastination

In psychology, refers to the act of replacing high-priority actions

with tasks of lower priority According to Wikipedia

  • In layman's terms, put off today what you can do tomorrow

guess we can mow the lawn tomorrow
For most of us procrastinating is not a good thing

Aside from being my birthday, I had my garden work cut out for me

butternut squash seedlings

I needed to get my 100+ seedlings transplanted outside to the garden.  The weather had been in the mid 70's for more than a week and a half and the overnight low's were in the 40's. Everything was in my favor to "do it now!"

Did I mention it was my birthday?

There had been a blustery wind for more than 24 hours

that brought the wind chill factor down to 35-36 degrees, hmm not a good thing I mused.  Maybe I'll watch a movie it may subside by then.

I must have watched 3 movies before I decided, the heck with it

I'll do it tomorrow!

Thank God I Procrastinated!!!

I would have killed them all had I not procrastinated

The wind is still blowing, the sun is now shining but that darned wind chill factor has put me on pause.  If you are familiar with "Old Farmer's Almanac" you know everything in gardening follows Moon cycles.  Transplanting should be done after the Full Moon up until the New Moon.

brrrrr

Most growers will tell you, the Seasons are short in the Northern regions therefore sticking to a strict schedule is mandatory for successful harvests.

What crazy weather we continue to have!

I did the transplanting about April 14 and I plain just didn't procrastinate long enough!

There isn't anything to take a picture of with my acorn squash. My poor butternut squash...  I am glad that I have over 100 butternut squash seeds.  I have replanted this hill and if you look extremely close at the lower right hand corner, you can see a little seedling just breaking ground.
