Too Busy to Sleep
Many of us lead very busy lives. I won’t list the things
that could cause us to be so busy, however I will say that technology can help
contribute to our lack of sleep.
There is so much information everywhere; twitter, facebook,
LinkedIn, emails, etc. I ususally find myself in bed reading info and learning
different things when I should be asleep.
Getting enough sleep is important, without it you are
compromising your health. Here are a few tips for getting more restful sleep:
Maintain a regular sleep schedule…this includes weekends
Create a “sleep/rest” environment. Don’t do daily activities in your bedroom.
Don’t eat before bedtime.
Avoid caffeine and alcohol before bed. Contrary to the last
statement, a good glass of wine may be helpful in inducing a good restful
sleep.
If you notice that you are tired all of the time, you may
also want to check up with your doctor to rule out any possibility of any sleep
related disorders.
