Picasso's art in Pisa
Are you passionate about Picasso’s art?
Then you cannot miss the exhibition of Picasso in Italy (Pisa), having the title ‘Ho voluto essere pittore e sono diventato Picasso’, which means ‘I wanted to become a painter and I became Picasso’, that will be opened until 29/01/2012.
The exhibition in Pisa features more than 200 works of the genius artist, the highlight of which is a series of Linocut pieces from the Picasso Museum in Barcelona. These form the core of the exhibition, around which are wrapped creations dating from 1901 through to 1970 - paintings, ceramics, sketches and designs, lithographs, watercolours, books and tapestries.
This exhibition is hosted by one of the most important palaces in Pisa, named “il Palazzo Blu” or “The blue Palace”, which is a well-known center of cultural promotion. The palace was restored and managed by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pisa, and has a great historical and cultural value. While visiting the Picasso exhibition you can also visit the main apartment of the building and the Foundation's art collection, paintings and furniture.
If you don’t want to miss this extraordinary beautiful exhibition and want to stay into a pretty farmhouse with your family or friends we recommend you villa Nel Guasto. This villa is located 2 km away from Castelvecchio di Compito, a small medieval village on the hills between Lucca and Pisa. “Nel Guasto” is placed in a very quiet position and enjoys magnificent views on the surrounding countryside and the plane below and is an ideal base for touring Tuscany.
