Spillover, the slow poison.

The other day I mentioned spillover as part of the welfare mentality that causes people to either hesitate to join a program or jump in without testing the waters first.  Today I would like to go into a bit more detail as I see it.

Spillover is the natural result of many types of MLM and network marketing systems in use today. Spillover is not what will build your business but rather is a bonus benefit that you can reap. 

Most systems require a minimum requirement be met before you can benefit from spillover. An example is a system that requires "X" number of sales be made by you before you can qualify to benefit from sales made by those placed under you by those above.

Others are set up in such a way that the spill over will benefit you only as much as you yourself are willing to put into the business.  An example of this is a binary system where the spillover flows down one leg any you must build the other one yourself and you earnings are based on the matching portions of both legs.

Companies use the spillover lure to generate fast cash from joins but once the results promised fail to appear the attrition rate is just as steep as the join rate was and the net result for the person counting on it is ZERO.

If you are hesitant in joining a program because you might not get spillover DO NOT JOIN!  You are setting yourself up for failure by expecting others to build it for you.  Building a business is work and YOU need to do it whether you get spillover or not.

If you jump into a program because you are promised spillover will make you successful, have a friend or spouse hit you in the back of the head .. HARD!  Because  you will fail, by expecting everyone else to do the work for you!


Note if you dislike the thought of getting hit in the back of the head for being a schmuck, you can always go out and have "SUCKER" tattooed on your forehead.

To wrap it up, never join a program only if they promise you spillover.  Never join a program BECAUSE they promised you that "it will be built for you by spillover.  Always keep in mind "Spillover can happen and if it does it is a BONUS not part of the success formula.
