Manage your time, why?

"Money is the true measure of happiness." NOT!

How many people do you know who pursue money so that they can do everything
they ever wanted to in life... yet never seem to be able to get there?

Are you one of them? I bet you are.

Work, work and more work. Heads down and shoulder to the wheel, or so
we have been told, will result in success. Yet your efforts just go round
and round and no light at the end of the tunnel.

Hours, days, weeks months and years of your life traded for some one else's
cash, and never enough of it. Time away from the family, missed special
occasions and the promise of "We'll do that some time soon", never quite
realized.

Sound familiar?

Or even worse, the perfect opportunity to take a short-cut to wealth via
a special limited offer that requires a one time substantial investment of the
little bit of money you have managed to hoard away.... brought to you by a
close friend who is in the same boat as you... that vanishes with your cash
like the dream it promised you.

If your tired, frustrated and at your wits end and everything you do just
seems to have the same result... no money, no relief, no change, there is hope.

Before I explain what I mean by "There is hope", let me tell you why you may
need to change what you do and how you do it.

Are you stressed out all the time? Maybe even on medications to help you
sleep, stay awake, fight depression or battle the constant head aches?

Does your home life seem like one screaming match after the other with
your spouse and/or children?

Do you cringe when the phone rings or get a sinking feeling when you go to
check your mail? Fearful that its another bill collector?

Are you getting the flu or feeling sick often?

Do you suffer from...
Acid reflux?
Upset stomach?
Acne or other skin problems?
Chest pains?
Mysterious muscle or joint pains?
Weight problems?
Mood swings?
Forgetfulness?
Short temper?

If so the single most common culprit of all the above symptoms is....
---Drum Roll Please---........."STRESS"

Yes, the Journal of American Medical Association alone has over 20,000
published articles on the effects of stress on everything from skin
problems to heart attacks, from Asthma to cognitive functions.

In other words... "Stress affects everything about you and your life as
well as everyone in it!"

Sadly there is a solution that is easy to implement but almost never
mentioned that can remove most or all of the stress you suffer from, making
your life simpler, more enjoyable, fulfilling and over all more successful.

The solution?... "Time Management"

"No way" you say. "If it was that simple everyone would do it"

Think about it for a moment, Do you plan your day? Do you organize what
is important and what wastes time? Do you separate work from your family
time?

Like a blueprint for a construction job, time management is the instrument
that allows your life to come together in a manner that creates structure
and order in all you do.

The purpose of work is to be able to enjoy life in a pleasing and positive
manner. If work has become your life that becomes a problem as the means
to achieving the goal, has replaced the goal as the priority.

More work equals less time.... Less time equals more stress... More stress
equals less focus... Less focus equals more time wasted... More time wasted
equals more work needed to accomplish a task etc.

A vicious cycle that drags the strongest person into a self fulfilling
pit of despair. And with the downward spiral come all the negative effects
on both your mental and physical well being, which are then projected onto
everyone who your interact with and every thing you do.

Overwhelmed by despair the door to fear opens up and in order to avoid pain
and loss, energies are redirected towards diversionary things that do not
affect an improvement in the situation.

If you are in business for yourself this is a financial killer!

Weeks wasted in procrastination when all that is needed is action. Days lost
in perfecting a message that simply needed to be broadcast. Searching for
the perfect product when millions are available, the list goes on.

Dealing abruptly with, or more commonly avoiding, customer issues that are seen
as problems leading to bad press for your business resulting in more unhappy
customers and even more work for you.

No time to track your advertising, resulting in money wasted on useless promotions
to the wrong clientele

Drowned and overwhelmed by all the tasks needing attention it becomes difficult
to focus on what is important and it seems that everything needs to be done now,
yesterday or sooner. 100 weeks, time not spent with family, no breaks no rest.
Talk about exhausting!

Eventually you will hit the wall and say "No more" and if your lucky sell what
you have at a major loss. Most likely you will end up just walking away saying
"See, nothing I do ever works".

Still no money... still no happiness and lots of wasted time, work and effort.

In personal lives it results in relationships being stressed or shattered,
debt raging out of control and no pleasure or peace to be found. The only escape
coming from drugs, or a break with reality.

So, you ask "How can time management help?" The answer is simple, by prioritizing
what is important and productive in reaching your goals be they personal or
business related you can gain control.

How to Prioritize:-

The #1 question you need to ask before doing anything is "Will this help me
reach my goals faster or more effectively?"

If the answer is not an unequivocal "YES" then it is not a priority task!

List all your tasks in order of priority to your goals and present needs. The
list will change with time as goals are met and new ones issued so do not be
shy about reorganizing your list as often as needed.

The #2 thing you need to do is "Write it down!" Things kept in your head are
not perceived as important as things that are set to paper, so make sure you
write it down.

A) Make a list of your goals from most important to least important and post
them in a prominent place where you can see them several times a day.

B) Next make a list of things you need to do each day, set them in order of
priority, from those which will be the most beneficial to least beneficial in
achieving the goals that you are aiming for.

When you prioritize your activities you manage your time.

When your time is managed, the stresses and pressures are relieved and you will
find the time to enjoy life again. This creates balance and harmony in you and
your surroundings.

More importantly it engenders a enthusiasm and passion in you for the things
you do. A renewed zest and vigor in all you do. Physical well being is a side
effect that is swiftly noticeable.

All this promotes success by transmitting itself to others around you. After all
everyone loves a winner and only a winner is passionate about what they do.

Personal life stays personal, no more intrusion of business into your family
time. No more evenings and weekends sacrificed for work.

Debts seem to melt away as they too are prioritized and eliminated in an orderly
fashion and new ones are only created out of necessity or not at all.

It is almost as if a magic wand is waved and life falls into an orderly
pace allowing you to finally have what you have always dreamed of.

Every religion and philosophy promote the power of positive thinking, but
it is useless without structure to work from.

Managing your time provides the structure needed to create anything you choose
to do and is the template you need in order to achieve success.

It puts you back in control of your life, gives you a blueprint to follow,
eliminating many formerly unforeseen obstacles from your path.

Henry Ford, famous for maximizing efficiency through his development of the
assembly line, once said ....

"I have observed that most people succeed using the time others waste."
*(I have heard several phrasings to this quote, if this is a paraphrasing ,
please remember it is the message not the words that count)
