These sites could KILL you

More and more online Pharmacies are springing up and offering prescription drugs at low prices.  Many people are blindly turning to these online pharmacies and if you are one of them you may be risking your life!

Some of these Pharmacies are being promoted on APSense.  APsense members could be risking permanent injury or death by purchasing from them-even if they do display an "FDA Approved" Seal.

So let me tell you how you can protect yourself, it is a simple as listening to the National Association of Boards of Pharmacies

"The National Association of Boards of Pharmacy is an impartial professional organization that supports the state boards of pharmacy in creating uniform regulations to protect public health. Founded in 1904, the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) is the impartial professional organization that supports the state boards of pharmacy in protecting public health. NABP aims to ensure the public’s health and safety through its pharmacist license transfer and pharmacist competence assessment programs, as well as through its VIPPS, Vet-VIPPS, VAWD, and DMEPOS accreditation programs.

NABP’s member boards of pharmacy are grouped into eight districts that include all 50 United States, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, Australia, eight Canadian provinces, and New Zealand. The Association is governed by its Executive Committee, whose officers and members are elected during the Association’s Annual Meeting."

This organization evaluates online pharmacies and maintains a listing of Pharmacies that are not recommended due compliance issues either with the law or with patient health standards.  In other words these online pharmacies cannot be trusted. 

"Not Recommended Sites are those Internet drug outlets that appear to be out of compliance with state and federal laws or NABP patient safety and pharmacy practice standards. Ordering drugs from these Web sites puts you and your family at risk. NABP has reviewed over 8,000 sites and found 96% of those sites to be out of compliance."

So who can you trust?  Look For the VIPPS Seal.

"To ensure public health, VIPPS accreditation requires an Internet pharmacy to comply with the licensing and survey requirements of its state and each state to which it dispenses pharmaceuticals. VIPPS-accredited pharmacies meet nationally endorsed standards of pharmacy practice, and they demonstrate compliance with standards of privacy and authentication and security of prescriptions, adhere to quality assurance policy, and provide meaningful consultation between patients and pharmacists.

VIPPS pharmacy sites display the VIPPS Seal on their Web sites. The Seal is a key benchmark for consumers to measure the quality of a pharmacy’s practice, and by clicking on the VIPPS Seal, they are able to access verified information about the pharmacy."
