The Newbie Hook
I was just sitting here thinking that I could just mind my business and let the weasels just have a feeding frenzy on the newbies but obviously I'm not build that way. My theory is and will always be that If I can help just ONE newbie save thousands of dollars and sleepless nights I'll put my two cents in and I could care less who's toes I step on.
There's another element to this game that too many people find out about too late and that element are the WOLVES, SHARKS and WEASELS.
These people have given the industry a black eye that some of us try to heal on a daily basis, so I commend all the people here who are serious about helping people, sales aside. Below are a few things you may want to consider before you even begin to think about an online business.
You have to build a foundation first, that's first and foremost, I'm not calling anyone an idiot but I'm going to make this as simple as possible, because some of you seem like you need some assistance.
1. Facebook is great but I don't waste my valuable time on it telling people what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, your pets are cute but I really don't wanna hear about your pet throwing up.
2. Use Facebook for Marketing if that's what you're there for, create a business, or fan page and load it up. Invite just 10 to 15 people a day or you'll get the Facebook slap.
3. Create a Twitter account with your niche or business name and follow people in your niche, then build your list organically or naturally.
4. Register on LinkedIn and create your profile and connect your blog to it, LinkedIn is not for fun and games, its for professional people.
5. Create a blog, preferably free from Wordpress, is it intimidating at first? You bet but it comes to you eventually just like anything else you stick with.
6. Don't jump into a Primary business right away because does it really make sense to get started with auto-ship when you have no foundation? THINK, use that thing between your ears you were blessed with.
7. Listen to someone who's been there and done that, trust me when I tell you that 99% of the time you won't like or agree with what you hear but that person can save your Marketing life.
In closing, I don't recommend auto-ship for beginners, it was a terrible experience for me that cost me thousands and by the time I figured out that I was being taken for a ride it was too late. Also, be careful with these businesses that want you to upgrade to this or that at least 4 or 5 times, they'll get you in at a low cost and kill you on the back end.
