Censorship on APSense
APSense Wiki, APSense has very clear conditions that constitute abuse:
Abusive content
When a member writes an article or a RevPage, the other members can comment on it.
However, some things are considered as abuse and are not allowed in the comments.
1. Content unrelated to post
2. Advertising (With or without a link)
3.Unintelligible content
4. Plagiarism (Copying of Content)
However, lately comments have been removed that do not fall into any of these categories. They have been removed simply because the person who started the thread, discussion or whatever did not like what was said. A comment you do not like is not abuse, it is an opposing viewpoint.
Now that person may try to justify removing these comments by saying that they are keeping their discussion ‘clean’, they are not keeping anything clean. What they are doing is censoring that thread to suppress the views of others and impose their views on the membership.
Wincer made a comment on a thread about “The real problem with APSense IMHO” and Wincer started his comment by saying
“In my mind APSense is always freely for discussion,”
Sorry Wincer you cannot have free discussion and censorship. There is no such thing as ‘cleaning up a discussion. ’ Those who tell you different are telling you wrong. You can remove Spam and abuse but that is as far as it goes, anything beyond that is censorship.
Censorship is all about control freaks manipulating the avenues of communication to serve their own ego. On the Internet it is a classic indication of a troll who has no basis or foundation to his point of view so he makes everything that points to this lack of a leg to stand on disappear for no other reason than to impose his view.
I didn’t think that was what APSense was about.
