When you know you're right

Just a funny anecdote I remember reading years ago. Apparently a true story.

There was this scientist who studied the movements of the planets. He found it was weird. He made calculations, and came up with a new planet to explain the anomalies.

The planet was Neptune.

Astronomical observers pointed their telescopes in the direction indicated by the guy's results, and lo and behold, they saw Neptune was there. One of them hurried to tell the scientist to come and take a look, to see he was right.

His answer:

"Why would I waste time seeing it's there? I know it is, I calculated it. Sorry, I'm busy."

LOL

That's the best example of self-confidence in his abilities I ever read.

Of course, it goes against the most basic of principle in online marketing, that is of tracking to see where you get the best results.

I just did my homework. It was Urbain Le Verrier who calculated the position.
