Everybody tells you to eat less and exercise more, it was only that easy.
You have to figure out how to eat for your body type.  Do you need to eat lots of carbohycrates for energy or can you cut the carbohydrates and eat lots of protein.
Most body builders promote eating lots of protien because this promotes muscle growth and muscle burns fats and makes you look smaller even though you are heavier.  I think you should  keep your metabolism up by eating small meals every two hours.  Try to keep it between 200 to 300 calories and eat before you get hungry.  Wake up and drinking 16 ounces of water and drink 16 ounces of water before you go to bed.
30 minutes of exercise everyday unless you are sick.
