Funny how SPAM control goes, one simple rule of thumb I recently adopted has dropped the amount of SPAM and disrespect I get by at least 80%.

See I started only adding real people.

Real people may have their keyword or company name as a user name but make sure to share their real name in their about me section. Real people also use a real photo of the real them. Spammer seldom use either, and professionals always give you both.

Fact is we may live in a Wal-Mart world where a fast paced life demands get it done quick and a less personal presence but when given preference and permitted time we always opt for the mom and pop shop level of service. Take a look at the rich folks and how they live for example. Instead of going to McDonald's they drop in at a tiny little bistro out of the way where the waitress knows their name and the owner brings their wine to the table. They stopped shopping at Search and Burlington Coat Factory and now get treated royally at the tailor shops and boutiques.

When time permits even us poor folks drop in at the coffee shop out by the rail house, or Joe's bait shop over the hustle and bustle of our work week. We will spend more money on a simple kind of life surrounded by real people who take time to get to know us. By adding your picture and real name and adopting that level of service, you are setting forth a business model that will command respect and repeat business.

Not to mention you'll get less SPAM.
