My wife, Barbara, continues to amaze me as to her insight in the area of health and wellness. Now she has written another blog article addressing the need for balance in the upcoming holiday season. I don't know about you; the message of balance achievement is definitely for me. One day, maybe sooner than later, I will realize this goal.

Barbara has given me the permission to reprint her blog here. You can respond to her by posting your comments at www.healthinmyhome.com

The clock is ticking and the holidays will be soon be here. During this time people are scurrying to get everything done. Our jobs and our personal lives are becoming more demanding. As a result, our bodies demand more nutrition, rest, and physical and mental relaxation. Shopping, visitors, deadlines, and traffic are among some of the activities that can cause us to feel extreme stress.

Humans are experiencing more stress today, even in the presence of modern technology. I enjoy modern technology and all the tools that it can afford us, just like the next person. I enjoy receiving fax messages on my iPhone, and love working anywhere in the world due to technology. However, such modalities can cause us to feel we can take on more than we can handle.

As I address the aforementioned issues that will probably affect us in the coming months, many of you may be wondering "well, what is the solution?" Realizing the problem is the first step, but the next steps are up to you. The very fact that you are reading my blog gives me an indication that you care about your health. I believe we as human beings instinctively know when our life is out of balance.

During this holiday season, let us look within ourselves and to others and find ways to modulate our lives. If you need to take extra health supplementation or reduce the amount of shopping, then do this. Balance is what we need. This is why I recommend a balanced approach in line with Nikken's 5 pillars of health: "Healthy body, mind, family, society, and finances." For more information on the 5 pillars of health, visit my website,  www.healthinmyhome.com. If you have any suggestions to share with us on how we can seek balance in the five pillars of health, please feel free to comment. Your suggestions could be one of the best gifts someone may receive this year. I invite you to explore Nikken, especially, if you share this company's belief of achieving balance through the 5 pillars of health.
