Testimonials that are spam
Hi everyone,
It happens very often that I see false testimonials on ApSense members profiles.
The person who wrote the testimonial says nothing specific about you, they just say general things like "want to build a realtionship with you, here's my skype username".
Or they don't talk to you at all, they just talk about an opportunity and give a link.
Or, and that took me by surprise, I saw the Nigeria scam, it looks like this :
"Hi, I'm a young woman, I saw your profile, it looks interesting, please contact me and I will send you my picture, here's my email address xxx@whatever.com I think we can have a nice relationship"
The words are not exactly like that, but the general message is. I was surprised when I received such a message a few months ago, in a PM of all places, at another site where I'm a member. Since then, I have recived at least a dozen of them, probably more. I don't even know what the Nigeria scam is, it's friends who told me about it.
I would love to warn a member about a false testimonial every time I see one. Unfortunately, I see it when I send a contact request and so can't send a PM to the person.
You can delete testimonials any time. I deleted one a few days ago here, it was by someone going by the username VenueMedia.
My recommendation is, if you don't know the person at all, it might be a warning sign.
