One good deed deserves another

There is so much bad news in the world, that often we get consumed by it. We forget that there are good people, doing good things.

"If you go looking for a friend, you're going to find they're very scarce. If you go out to be a friend, you'll find them everywhere."
Zig Ziglar

I recently started a blog called good-deeds.info, the purpose is for people to post any good deeds that they know others have done. This blog is sort of like an homage to the unsung hero, those that do good yet never get recognized.

There is a difference between doing good and wanting to remain anonymous, for example a person gives blood and saves a persons life, or a millionaire donates money to a family after say a Katrina, and those that do things without really thinking that they are doing a good deed because it is just in their DNA, it is a part of who they are.

Like the school teacher that works way beyond what is required of her just to ensure that a failing student passes the grade/test, or the little kid on your street that saves a birds life after a thunderstorm. These types of acts of good deeds I would like to explore.

I read a blog post here on Apsene a few weeks ago about paying it forward which got me to thinking about random acts of kindness.  Yesterday I read a blog here about an International Day in November to celebrate good deeds. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all do good deeds each and every day we are on this planet?

If you have a story about a good deed or would like to write about good deeds on my blog, please visit it today.

Thank you.
