If you love well-cooked seafood, we suggest...
Whispering sea breeze forms the backdrop. Nestled amidst the touristy shops in Mahabalipuram, is a quaint little thatched eatery that dishes out some mouth-watering fare.
Sunshine yellow steps with a strategically placed blackboard on the side, announcing the menu for the day catches your eye. Welcome to Le Yogi"

I almost thought I was entering a centre for Yoga, what with the thatched roof and a request to remove our shoes at the entrance. Boasting of unusual and informal seating Le Yogi is a riot of colour with scattered cushions, baby chairs and luxurious couches beckoning.

Le Yogi is the French born, Fabienne"s baby. It echoes her personal touch all the way. The Caesar salad is crunchy and chilled, doused in olive oil and herbs. Try the succulent prawns, drenched in a mouth watering lemon butter sauce. A wide variety of fruits are heaped on a narrow counter. Take your pick and they will juice it for you. The crab comes in a creamy cheesy sauce, the fish is perfectly grilled with a hint of sage and you could even opt for a well done beef steak or calamari fritters. The stress at Le Yogi is on fresh food and seafood. They offer some great bread (from Auroville) to go with hearty soups. The desserts aren"t that great, unless of course you consider ice-cream as dessert!

Le Yogi also offers an Indian selection with the all-time favourite Biryani, tandoori chicken, butter chicken etc. Strangely enough, the Indian menu includes noodles, chowmein and momos as well! It can cost you around Rs. 200 per head, and you can call them for reservations at 044-27442571.
