A Job Fair.. But am I Welcome?

Last night in the paper I read that our local community was going to host a Job Fair at the library. It was being organized by a group of concerned citizens. With so much downsizing going on in our area the idea was to have employers available to discuss job opportunities that are available locally. The Community College was also going to be there to talk about schooling options.

I gave one of the organizers a call to find out the particulars. I must tell you his reaction to me wanting to be included in his job fair was very luke warm. When I told him I had an internet business, and that I taught people how to market online I could feel his knee jerk reaction even over the phone line. Not wanting him to know I could feel his concern I went onto ask, "what was the criteria for be able to be included at the fair?" He asked if it was a paid position? Well...I must tell you I had to snicker at that question. To me it is a very well paid position. But that is because I have studied, attended classes, went to trainings all of which were available to me online, in my own home using my computer.

I told him it was an opportunity for anyone who wanted to earn an income working from home. I was not going to tell anyone that would make $10,000 by next Friday. I was going to teach them how to market online. Still getting the negative feeling over the phone, I continued, "to me this is the greatest business in the world. I work from home at my own pace. I get out of my business what I put in. I don't have to get up at a certain time, I don't have to punch a clock I don't have to drop the kids at day care and I don't have to spend money on gas commuting.
Everything I do is online. All of the classes and trainings that I have access to are just a couple of mouse clicks away. What kind of a business could possibly be better than that?"

He went on to ask, "yeah but how much is this training you offer?" I told him there were different levels but you could get into the training for as little as $10.97 a month. I gave him the link to my web site and told him to check it out and be sure and send for the Free Report.

He told me he had to speak to the other organizer about this but he would be getting back to me.  I am still waiting. I am wondering if he asked the  folks from the Community College who were coming to the Job Fair how much they charged for that class or that course. I also wondered if passing those classes meant the guarantee of a good income.
I don't think I am welcome at that Job Fair but take a look at what would be available to those who attended.
