Oh That Marvelous Brain

Before Christmas is such a hectic time. I really can't say
that I enjoy all of that hustle and bustle. Now mind you
back on January 1st I knew that Christmas for this year
would be coming on December 25th, not a day earlier not
a day later.

Not until about December 20th did I even get a piece of
paper out to put names down to start to get an idea of who
I was buying gifts for.

It seemed the more I thought about it the more stressed
out I got. I walked around the stores with charge card in hand
but still wasn't able to cross anyone off my gift list.
Then, out of the blue it was as if I were hit by a ton of bricks.
A thought from no where came into my head.

And I thought:

PERFECT!!
WHY NOT?
GREAT IDEA!!

In one thought my problem was solved. I had bought a set of
handmade solar driveway markers at a craft show a few
weeks ago. They were the neatest things.
I called the sweet little old man that I bought them from and
ordered my gifts.
Better yet, he delivered.
Best yet, no gift wrapping was required, a bow would do.

Suddenly my dread of Christmas fast approaching was over.
My gift list was complete, with a check mark by everyone's name.

The brain is a marvelous thing. When I wasn't even thinking about it
my problem was solved for me. You know how that works. Your trying
to remember something, you know you know it but you just can't quite
put your finger on it. But then later, usually in the middle of the night
it comes to you, out of NO WHERE. At times those thoughts have
woke me up out of a sound sleep. Good reason to have pen and paper
by bedside.

So if we apply this technique, just think of what we might accomplish.
Tell yourself what you are trying to do.
What is your intent?
Be specific.
Do it repeatedly each night before you go to sleep. I have heard
that the magic number is 21 days. Because your brain is like a computer.
It remembers everything you have ever heard, seen or read. It has stored
all of that information for you and has filed it away. If you give it time to
scan that stored information and process. I have heard that the magic
number is 21 days.

I am starting this new technique tonight. I intend to ask myself very pin point
questions.
Not broad,
Not open ended,
Not general..
Specific, well defined questions.
I will let my brain filter my stored information and give me the answers
I am looking for.

I am ready for the answers.
Hit me with that ton of bricks.
I have pen and paper ready at bedside.
