A Cozy Rainy Day - Written By Lisa G. ~*~
- (A rainy day memory from my childhood days)
I love the cozy feeling I get on a rainy day.
It's nice to come in from the rain, and set inside and play
My Daddy has a deck of cards reserved for that special day
When life slows down and everyones inside and doing okay
We set for hours playing in total contenment on this noon day
The lightening, a bit frightening
My mom's, cozy on the couch
Our kitten, gives my brother a loving touch
Were all cozy and warm inside when the pitter patters approach
Rain Rain, please don't go away
Stay with us just for one more day

About the Poem:
Days like I speak of in this poem, are what made a cozy rainy day so dear to my heart. This little poem is a true story.
My Dad and I would set and play Romey and Black Jack for hours on end. My Dad always thought I won all the time because of his thick glasses. He thought I could see his cards in the reflexion of them...ha..ha. Want to know a secret? I couldnt see his cards..shhh..but I sure learned how to bluff very well at our occasional hand of poker..ha..ha.
Sometimes, we would switch out to a game of "Strict Ruled" Scrabble..lol, dictionary, thesaurus and all..lol, or Monopoly. My mom loved nothing more than to enjoy being in the same room with us, and watching TV while my Dad and I challenged each others for hours. My cat was a mere kitten, and loved to stare at my brother and gently touch his face.
