Find Purpose in your Business and in your Life
Find Purpose in your Business and in your Life
If you desire to succeed in your Business and in your Life , you need purpose. Without knowing your purpose, you will not know where you are going. Without purpose, you will not be very committed to success. Without being committed to do whatever it takes to be successful, you will be more likely to fail.
To be succeed in business or daily living, you need to set goals: short-range, medium-range, and long-range goals. For example, as a parent, you know that your family has needs (short-range goals) that must be met on a daily basis. Perhaps, one of your children is trying out for the basketball team. Ultimately, he or she wants to be in the starting line-up (medium-range goal). Eventually this child hopes to enlist in college (long-range goal)
If you are the owner of a conventional business, again you have daily goals, you do things that you expect to increase sales over time, such as giving good service and advertising. Looking years down the road, perhaps, you may plan to sell your business at a good profit or have a great inheritance for your children.
If you have an internet business, possibly your short-range or immediate goals would be to develop more computer skills and learn about your company’s products. Over time, your intermediate or medium-range goals would be to develop the knowledge and skill necessary to bring increased numbers of people to your website. Maybe you will develop your own ezine, too. Long-range goals would probably be to develop a very large customer base, or in the case of network marketing, a large organization of distributors. .
So, you can see from the above examples, that whether raising children or developing a business (or both), it is important that you like what you do. Your life and your business take lots of commitment to be successful. Finding purpose in whatever you do, will help you on the road to success.
Your purpose is what is right for you. This may differ greatly from your spouse, other members of your family, your neighbor or your best friend. God has given each of us special gifts, talents, abilities, and interests. It is up to us to discover what they are --- and to apply them to our lives.
Whether you are 20 years old, 40, 60, or 80, the more you realize and use what God has given you, the happier you can be in your life --- and the more satisfied you can be in your choice of a business or profession.
One book that has helped me and my business associates in understanding my purpose in business and life is THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE by Rick Warren. Warren does an awesome job of explaining to the reader just “why†we are here on this earth! If you get nothing else from this article, please get THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE and spend some time with it. It could just help change your life for the better. It could help you find more meaning to your business and your life, as it has done for me.
One of my passions for a long time has been that I like to help people improve their lives through good communication products and services. This is one reason that I am a marketing rep for a company that has great Communication products and services. Since I believe that this is part of God’s purpose for my life, I am better able to handle the many challenges that come my way.
