15 bean soup

Yum yum!  I cooked a ham yesterday, and today I am making a 15 bean soup, and sweet cornbread!  For anyone that hasn't had or doesn't know what this soup is......IT IS THE BOMB!!
I am not good at writing recipes but here is what I do!

2 packets of 15 beans (in your dried bean section)
2 minced garlic cloves
1 Ham bone (I season my ham with Lowry's, garlic salt, garlic pepper and save all the drippings for seasoning)
ham drippings
potatoes peeled and cut (about 5 or 6)
2 large onions

I take one large stock pot.  (Remember now, I have an army to feed so you can cut all this in half)
Fill pot with beans and halfway with water and minced garlic cloves.  Boil on high for 60 minutes.  Add your ham bone and drippings for seasoning.  Boil on high (add more water if needed) for another 30 minutes.  All the meat from your ham bone will come off.  Remove bone.  Add potatoes and onions.  Turn heat to med for another 60-75 minutes.  Or low for a slower cook (which is really great for taste, and I love to do..but the family is too impatient).  And in the bean bag there are ham flavor packets.  I do not use them, because of all my seasonings..but that is your choice!
And MAN IT IS AWESOME!!!  Your family will love you even more!!
