YOU CAN GIVE A HELPING HAND!

Many of us, when we have the means to do so, donate to charities.  No doubt, you or someone you know has given a helping hand by donating slightly worn clothing, used books, maybe an old car, volunteered at the local hospital or delivered "Meals on Wheels" to the elderly in lieu of money.  Many others, I'm sure, could add to this list, it certainly is not all inclusive.

My very first online contribution started with Hurricane Katrina and a program called MyPoints.  I earned my points by reading a few e-mails each day. Little by little, the points added up and I finally  accumulated enough for my first gift card.  Before I could decide what card I wanted, Hurricane Katrina hit the coast.  There was no hesitation, the need and devastation was so great, all my points went to the American Red Cross.  To this day, I continue to donate my points to the Red Cross and disaster relief.
During my online travels, I have found several additional resources that benefit charities by gifting my time instead of my cash.

With the click of my mouse, I can feed the hungry or save the rain forest
The Rainforest Site
While earning credits on my traffic exchange, I can "surf" for illiteracy or children's health.

I can build a website or create a blog with all or some of my earnings going to the charity of my choice.

Without any additional effort on my part, I can
give a helping hand that stretches around the world.

Why not give a helping hand by contributing a little of YOUR time?
