Cloud hosting is one of the most talked about hosting solution currently. In fact, adoption rate is also improving with every passing day. There are lots of myths associated with the cloud servers. However, with increasing knowledge about people on cloud, more and more businesses are moving to cloud hosting.

Cloud hosting is a field that is evolving fast in the Information Technology industry. The best aspect here is that the data is not stored or the computation is not done on a single computer or server. It is done on an interconnected set of servers or computers. Therefore, it can be said that the cloud hosting India type is a subscription-based service system where a subscriber gets benefitted from computer resources as well as networked storage space. It can be defined in a more simplistic way by saying that cloud hosting solution accommodates two important things –

• Raw compute power, on one hand, and

• Capabilities of storage of hardware as well as software

However, both these important aspects work concurrently and in a well integrated manner under a sophisticated management. Now, you know how cloud servers are different from normal machine servers. Do you know there are basically two kinds of cloud hosting types and another one is derived from them? If not then keep reading to have a clear idea on the matter.

Cloud Hosting Types

Cloud servers are of two types -

• Public Cloud Server

Public cloud hosting solution is similar to shared hosting solutions. It has multi-tenant agreement, where multiple users can buy into the public cloud chunk and become one of the users of the concerned cloud solution. Cloud resources are shared among the tenants. Shared nature of the cloud resources makes this cloud solution is highly affordable as the cost of the resources is shared among many users. Now, the question that usually asked by users is – why should they move from a shared server to a public cloud server. There are two basic reasons why you should move to a public cloud –

1.  The cloud hosting solutions have multiple nodes. Whenever one node is not working or there is a failover in one node, the cloud system will automatically switch the node, and therefore the failover of your entire system can be avoided. In case of shared server, it is dependent upon only one physical server. If failover happens in only one server then the users will not be able to work till the failover issue is rectified or work upon.

2. Public cloud’s payment is on a pay-as-you-use basis. You pay only that much amount as used. The payment is done in accordance with the resources used on an hourly basis. However, in case of a shared server, the payment is done on a fixed basis. This means that even if the resource usage is less you pay the same amount that has been used by another user using more resources. That’s why public clouds are preferable to shared servers.

• Private Cloud Servers

It is a scalable hosting solution that not only provides you best security solution but also redundant cloud infrastructure as well as maximum agility. These hosting solutions are dedicated in nature for each user and that’s why are expensive. Private clouds are most suitable for large enterprises.

• Hybrid Cloud Hosting

It is a hybrid of public and private cloud. While the usual computations are done in the cost effective public cloud, the computations requiring most secured environment (mainly involving financial transactions) are done in the private cloud. Therefore, an organisation can strike a balance between security needs and cost.
