Living a happy life is no different from learning. Nobody gets anywhere without doing the work, no matter how talented or desirous. As learning requires focused study and regular, intentional practice over time, happiness involves learning and mastering certain skills. Nonetheless, many of us believe that living a happy life is more a matter of luck or circumstances. If this were true, then only lucky people would be happy. But we know that is not true. I am sure you know people who have made a happy life coming from miserable circumstances; you also probably know people coming from blessed circumstances who have made a miserable life. Authentic and genuine happiness is not something that we have. It is something that we do. It is based on tangible, learnable, practicable skills of thinking, relationships, and action.
In a nutchell, living a Happy life begins with the choice to be happier, to start studying the commonalities of happy people. What are they doing? How do they think? How do they face challenges?

Most people want something for nothing. If your life isn’t as good as you want it to be right now, you are the only one that can change it for the better.
