Norton 360 is their subscription service. They constantly update the software for new virus's found. Whatever antivirus package you choose, make sure it DOES auto update for you.
Well, here's the deal. I contacted a hard drive recovery specialist a while back because a virus crashed my system. I shunned at the recovery cost and simply asked for alternatives and his suggestion was to try SuperAntiSypware, that was one of there programs they used. To my surprise, it recovered my computer completely and now have been using it ever since. You will absolutely love the performance and capabilities but most of all, it's free.
There is a paid version, this is of course not an af
Similar to Paula, I never go online with WINDOWS. I have used Linux for surfing for the last couple of years and don't have any anti-virus or malware protection running in the background to slow me down, but I have not had any problems at all. If I ever did, I would just reinstall my Internet computer and be back online in minutes, while my Windows computer keeps right on running along.
I am using Avast Ver8. For personal use it is very good. I am using it for more than 3 years since their Ver5. You can download it from net and do free registration for 1 year and renewable every year free of cost. Only Antivirus is Free. If you wants to have total internet security they you have to purchase it and it is worth too.

I'm using Spybot-Search & Destroy2 and SUPERAntySpyWare, both free and I cleaned up my computer several time, they did the job where those big mane failed.
I think that your choice of Internet Security software/services depends on what you are doing online, and again--what feels comfy to you. I use AVG and Piriform.
Popular anti-virus software use code created by Kaspersky, so when a new virus or worm or whatever malware arrives, Kaspersky users ( like me ) get protected first, until the other ones get the update. So, for me it's Kaspersky all the way. A few years ago, a free anti-virus software told me there was a problem with a site. I changed to Kaspersky, and discovered the site was ok. Don't play with security and false alerts
