Warren, I normally look at every angle before I post a question this one you got me on. Yes, free is good when you don't know how to do something, it is a starting place to learn...but now free is perverted in some way or another. People just want to spam you, out dated info or nothing of real substance is there.
Since I deal with a lot of people who don't have a lot of money that joins one of my groups or trainings...I keep a list of 500 or so websites that are free and pays people a few dolla
And, isn't that what it is all about Warren - building up your reputation and your brand. We deal in a physical product, and although we do not deal in "free" we do give discounts not only as an introduction but also to reward loyalty and that is what we look to build, returning customers. So to sum up - "Genuine Free" could introduce but the main value of success is "Service".
Absolutely, free is a very good price. I use free media (photos, music, templates, web tools, editors, etc.) consistently and share what I use with others (also for free) and it has helped me establish a Brand as a goto guy for those who need help finding free alternatives to get started. No I probably don't make as much money as Gurus who rip your pants getting at your wallet, but I like who I see in the mirror each morning.
I have found free things to offer like free places for others to place their ads & free training has helped bring me find leads but using free in the subject line of my ads not so much.
Vikram G., yeah when we have bonus offers things seem to be better but my established customers get upset at those now, they say it cheapens the offer. Thanks for the response.

Giving away Freebies and providing Free services are my favorite and shortest paths to PROFITS, so my answer is a definite YES! :-)
