i offer better hosting for free than quite a few paid hosts that says a lot too as you know warren ^_^ costs me a lot of money though but spent it now so never mind lol
The thing most people are overlooking (some intentionally since they make their money from free hosting), is good paid hosting can be had for $1 a month. That ends the argument for me.
@Vishwajeet, I disagree. I know from personal experience that it doesn't make much of a a difference in terms of security, SEO or ranking whether you are on paid hosting or free hosting. As far as security goes, if you're not careful, your site can be hacked just as easily whether you are on paid or free hosting. As for SEO and ranking, it depends on the content on your site and the on-page/off-page SEO practices you implement. If you have relevant content on your site, it will rank at the top p
what you have said applies only to people using sub domains, and if you back up a site as you should always do there is no problem, also using a sub domain will not hurt your site it will just not put you at the top position in search results because you are using a sub domain though you will still get into google. Google does not hate sub domains it just ranks them lower than top level domains
As a Web Hosting company Owner I would never suggest to use free web hosting, Because free hosting does not give you the security guarantee of your whole files and website. if anything goes wrong you will never get your website and files back. According to SEO it will also not helpful and tough to get ranking from a free web hosting site. Google Hate sites that are hosted on free web hosting.
The question is: Does free hosting help beginners in online marketing? The answer is: YES (despite what some ignorant people might say). All you need to do is buy a domain name (which costs less than $10) and point it to a free web host by updating the DNS record. Make sure, though, that the free web host you choose is a reliable one and has good uptime. What many people don't know is that you can host your domain free with well-known providers such as Blogger, Weebly and Tumblr.
yes check my profile for info : ) 1 is .eu and 2 are .com, Oh and to stop people getting all worried about free hosting here is what you do! Buy a domain name and use it with free hosting, back your site up just incase as no host free or paid is fault free, and well then in reality there no difference at all with free and paid ecept bandwidth and disk space, you can use a .cu.cc sub domain or lots of free sub domain services with free hosting if you can not afford a domain right now etc
I mean no bad vibes but that is your opinion Manuel Marcelino i own the company's so please don't insult me, we offer paid hosting too though free hosting is still good with me anyway's i run everything and have over 50 domain's used with my free hosting by people and they are happy if they get a lot of traffic they can upgrade or use any company they want
of course it does warren i have 3 new hosting companies let me know if you need hosting free seriously killing the competition this time around am not playing games no more lol i have over 20 people using there domains with my hosting services eg: site.com new servers only in the last few weeks it has set me back a lot of money and even more to spend next month hopefully it pays off
It is a relative question, based on experience of the user and the intent of the website. I have no personal experience about the host you mention but I do have a site at a place called FreeHost.com, based in Europe. I did pay 12.95 to register my domain name for a year but I get unlimited storage and transfer, and no one knows it is a free host by looking at my site. I agree w/Mike G. above me- you have more control over what people see on your site when it is truly yours- but I do run a Blog
I have built thousands of sites both free and paid...I make money from both but the thing is you are in control of the domain and the rules of your own site. I can sell the paid for site for any amount I want although I have sold the free ones but that is mostly frowned upon and people will only pay so much for it.
So I guess my answer would be yes but keep in mind what Warren said!
In my opinion, it helps them get started on the WRONG FOOT. My Gosh if they can't afford to pay $1 a month for a hosting account, they should go get a job sitting on a stool at the local convenience store. EVERY ONE WHO VISITS THEIR SITE KNOWS THEY ARE NOT MAKING ANY MONEY!
Vps, you will agree with me that online marketing newbies will like to go there first to test how it hosting works, remember some hosting companies in addition to free hosting provides free subdomain. When this newbies start earning online to usually upgrade to paid hosting.
