Did you ever read APSense rules for profile pictures?

I think yes, but I don't remember clearly.

I have read all the rules of apsense, and obviously that includes the rules on pictures. However at the same time this network is a community and as such I use a lot of personal judgement. If the image matches what they promote, I will allow it. If it is a brand logo, I will allow it if its a random useless picture I disallow it. About a year ago, I discussed the issue with Wincer, since I was seeing a lot of logos uploaded and wasn't sure if I should accept them, he told me he didn't mind, so I'm glad the rules don't mention it, it confirms what he told me back then. His reasoning is that he wants to attract serious business owners to APSense, and I agree with that wholeheartedly

np. I was 100% sure it prohibited logos, but it must have been changed since I last read it

7. Sunsets and other scenery
8. Mascots
9. Photos of Headless bodies

It doesn't specifically prohibit business logos, so as long as they don't fall into one of the other categories I suppose they're allowed. I always reject them anyway t

Yes, I think it does make more sense now Paula. If a stranger said to me, "Come and join Surf Bar Traffic", rather than look elsewhere I would go to you because you are established with it. I always do my due diligence on a website now and if I know of a person on that site, it is simple, you just join them, so a picture does actually make sense

I agree with Josh. Personally I would not buy anything online from a person wearing a 'mask'. In a way marketing on social media is a bit similar as a job interview. As in this is me, I have this skills and knowledge about.... If that looks decent I am willing to take a look at the actual products/services. Products and online services can be found everywhere. The matter of trust I have in the person behind the offer determins for me to purchase from that person or go elsewhere

Philippe, is Paula right then in saying you should know who the person is first and then your logo could be elsewhere on your profile explaining your business?

@Josh, it's not the same thing, business owners don't go into job interviews, they want their logo to be their main brand

Profile pictures are important as far as I am concerned. In the offline working world would you go for a job interview with a mask on? It is the same online, people want to see who they will be working with (affiliates) even if they never meet them

Yes faii acy it is a minor offence but I believe one that could major consequences in relation to building an online presence and making valuable connections. I am conviced that if I did ecertyhing the same as I did but had used a logo, cartoon or whatever as a profile picture I would not have the connections and partners I have now.
There are other things on APSense and other sites that concern me more than the profile pics. What you wrote in above excellent article is just one of those. I don'

Yes, logos, cartoons, children and babies, celebrity pics are all against the rules. But this is a relatively minor offense. What is much more serious is the rampant geolocational misrepresentation. As I have expounded on before (to not surprisingly little response) this is contrary to the basics of online marketing. And yet no attention is given to this problem. My article can be seen here:

I don't. There are plenty of places where you can display a logo i.e. brandpage, ABC and profile album. I want to know the person behind an offer.

When I see a logo, if there are words in it and the member's name has the same words, I accept it.
