High Camp Supply — One of The Leading Brands in The Floral Industry
Susan Hanson is the Founder, CEO, and Head of the
Brand High Camp Supply, with a background as an American Entrepreneur and
Inventor. Before founding High Camp Supply in 2014, Susan was a long-time
Creative Director specializing in large-scale corporate events and
installations, a film director, an editorial photo shoot producer, and a
commercial design.
Susan founded Floodlight Media Inc. as an umbrella
organization for an eclectic mix of production, design, and creative projects
in 2000. Floodlight is a full-service creative agency specializing in branding
and marketing, producing large-scale events, film+ video, magazine covers, and
fashion/editorial layouts.
Leading Floodlight, Susan worked directly with many of
the pioneering CEOs and companies in the San Francisco Bay Area, as well as
globally (Oracle, Genentech, Restoration Hardware, Williams-Sonoma, Gap Inc,
JCrew, Kiehl's), as well as editorials such as Vogue, InStyle, and Oprah
Magazine.
In 2012, Susan expanded to Commercial Design, working
with the developer of The Barlow as Creative Director. Susan helped vision the
look, feel, and content of a 250,000 sq. foot art/food/wine/artisanal film
community. Susan assisted the developer as Creative Director, leading a team of
designers, contractors, and architects to design and create four city blocks of
retail space in the heart of Sonoma County.
Susan used her repertoire of skills and created High
Camp Supply in 2014, an Ephemeral Luxury brand that celebrates every day with
unique, experiential sensory gifting. The idea that experiences are more
precious than "stuff" is the foundation of High Camp Supply. There is
a sensory language that transmits what words cannot explain when trying to
convey emotion. A present that leaves the recipient with a lasting memory and a
meaningful experience that cannot be replaced by money.
Gardenias have always been Susan's favorite flower.
They produce a magnetic sensory overload that instantly changes one's mood.
They are somehow refined, endearing, seductive, and classic. Every time someone
comes into contact with the flower, they are reminded of it thanks to the
evocative scent. Gardenias have always been a favorite of Susan's for everyday
use and the most formal celebrations. Her passion for gardenias inspired High
Camp Supply and our iconic High Camp Gardenia Vine and Bloom Box.
Through founding High Camp Supply, Susan pioneered a
new method of floral delivery, allowing the floral industry to become what it
has blossomed into today. Gardenias had never successfully shipped en-masse by
air. Undeterred, Susan worked for months, refining the optimal growing methods
and shipping flowers to herself until the process was perfected. High Camp is
the first "Ephemeral Luxury" TM and "Sensory Gifting" company
and the first company to ship flowers overnight from farm to consumers direct
straight from the farm in the beautiful coastal valley of California.
High Camp Supply has gained significant traction and a
dedicated following in the high-end luxury goods market. Susan has spoken at
the de young museum in San Francisco on the Future of Floral Design as art. She
has created a 5000-flower installation for NYFW and numerous facilities for top
U.S. luxury retailers.
High Camp Supply has been twice featured on Oprah's
Favorite Things for Holiday, as a Vanity Fair "Cult Favorite," Town
and Country gift guide, Architectural Digest "#1 luxe floral
delivery" and has been featured repeatedly in C magazine, Elle Decor,
Vogue Gift Guide, House Beautiful, Luxe Design, Inc. Vogue's Holiday Gift List,
The Robb Report, the Business Journal, GOOP, and Airmail. High Camp Supply's
dedicated client list includes many of the country's top celebrities, captains
of industry, celebrated designers, musicians, and influencers. The brand is on
a journey to deliver more sensory-based experiences.
The response has been wonderfully overwhelming.
Customers reach out regularly to share memories evoked and the joy the package
