Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled the Ashoka Pillar installed on the new Parliament House. PM Modi unveiled the national emblem on the roof of Parliament House this morning. The Ashoka Pillar made of bronze is 6.5 meters high. During this, Modi also interacted with the people engaged in the work of the new Parliament. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri were also present along with the PM on this occasion. The PM unveiled the Ashoka Pillar by pulling two levers installed there.

Work expected to be completed by this year

Parliament building is being constructed under the Central Vista Project. The new building work is expected to be completed this year. The building will be in the shape of a triangle, with three national symbols prominently in its interiors which include lotus, peacock and banyan tree. At the same time, the theme of Lok Sabha will be peacock, the national bird. The national flower will be the lotus in the Rajya Sabha.
