Which is better, 2019 Jeep Renegade or Dacia Duster?

We often talk about the fact that when buying a car, the customer values ​​a specific segment but, despite this being correct, the truth is that a key factor in this is the price that some models and others may have. Both 2019 Jeep Renegade and Dacia Duster are C SUVs, but their cost is quite uneven, enough to justify the purchase of one or the other?

We usually save this point until last, but in this case it is one of the key aspects and one that clearly influences most other areas. The Dacia is a full-fledged low-cost, with a price starting at 11,260 euros, while the Jeep has a considerably higher starting point: 20,490 euros.

Traditionally it has been the factor that the Duster "punctured", but its new generation has gained integers compared to its predecessor: the front imposes more, the lower protections give it presence, the bodywork is more defined ... Although it is possible To say that the Renegade is more stylish, with a peculiar rectangular design and that it bets on the angular softening, something that distinguishes it quite a bit from its competition.

The Dacia Duster is slightly larger than the 2019 Jeep Renegade, having an advantage in virtually every dimension. It measures 4,341mm long, 1,804mm wide, 1,693mm high and has a 2,674mm wheelbase; while the American remains at 4,236 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, 1,667 mm in height and 2,570 mm in battle.

This makes the Dacia offer a more spacious interior for both passengers and cargo, with a 445-liter boot larger than that of the Jeep's 351. Before you go offroad, upgrade with Jeep Renegade led headlights are most recommended. Folding down the rear seats the difference is even greater: 1,478 by 1,297 liters.

As expected, the Jeep Renegade has a more extensive endowment as standard, including elements such as a center console with a 5-inch touch screen, air conditioning or an anti-puncture kit; but the difference may be less than you might expect, since even the most basic Duster (with steel wheels of anything but aesthetic) already has some quite interesting points such as the hill start aid system, the speed limiter or emergency braking assistance.

The Jeep features an offering of both gasoline and diesel blocks. The first are a 1.0 with 120 hp, associated with a six-speed manual gearbox and a front-wheel drive system; and a 1.3 of 150 CV, automatic and 4x2. The diesel options are greater, with the 1.6 Multijet II of 120 CV as base, 4x2 and manual or automatic; the 2.0 Multijet II 140 CV manual 4x4 in the middle zone and the 2.0 Multijet II 170 CV, automatic and 4x4 at the top of the range.

The Dacia does not offer such powerful engines, but its mechanical range is quite varied and even includes ECO versions. On the gasoline side there are two 115 hp 4x2 or 4x4 manuals and a 130 hp 4x2 manual, the diesel ones are the dCi 95 hp 4x2 manual and 115 hp 4x4 or 4x2 manual, and the most interesting perhaps is the 115 hp LPG 4x2 manual , with the prized environmental label and a cheaper cost per kilometer traveled.
