Nawabganj sanctuary is a famous tourist spot in the Unnao district and is situated on Lucknow-Kanpur Highway. Nawabganj bird sanctuary is equipped with thick forests and dense trees. History of Nawabganj Bird Sanctuary
The formation of the Nawabganj bird sanctuary took place in the year 1984. The total area of this bird sanctuary is 224 acres. In the year 2015, it was renamed as Shahid Chandra Shekhar Azad Bird Sanctuary.
The sanctuary comes under as a wetland of International Importance in 2019. It is home to barking deer and more than 250 migratory birds. The deer park is a delight to watch in this bird sanctuary.It has huge water bodies and walking from wetland is refreshing.

Time To Visit
It is advisable to visit
the Nawabganj bird sanctuary during winter as many birds come from the Soviet
Union during this time. Moreover, after the onset of spring, the bird starts
migrating back to their home, leaving the place. The nearest railway
station(Kusumbi station) is 2 km far
from this bird sanctuary.
Entry Fees And Time
The entry fee for Indian
nationals is Rs 30, and for foreign tourists, it is Rs 350, and the entry time
is between 6 am to 6 pm.
