Treatments Remedies Suggested by Dermatologists

Many people are unaware of whom to call in the case of hair fall or hair thinning: a friend who is suffering through the same issues, a physician, a barber or a professional? It’s better to choose a dermatologist or a skin doctor for better results. A dermatologist finds out the root causes behind hair loss by examining the hair health, verifying scalp, nails, hair-loss areas, or any other disease that may have affected the hair health, etc. It helps him/her to diagnose the main issues behind hair loss. Whether any disease, vitamin deficiency, hormonal imbalances, skin infections, post-pregnancy health issues, or any hereditary causes, etc. responsible for hair loss are closely examined by the dermatologist so that suitable and proper cure is provided. The treatments for hair loss are not equal and same for everyone. They differ from person to person depending upon the root causes of hair loss.

Proper Hair Shampoo and Conditioning

Washing and conditioning hair with proper care is one of the first treatments suggested by the dermatologists. Selecting proper shampoo and conditioner from the market must be a wise decision, so that hair trauma like thinning and falling can be avoided. Dermatologists suggest using gentle shampoo for hair wash as they do not strip moisture from the hair. In order to avoid dryness, split hair ends and weird strands a suitable hair conditioner after every shampoo should be applied. Even applying a leave-in conditioner or detangler every time after wash helps to reduce breakage, split ends and frizz.

Avoid Heating Treatments

Hair damages are possible in case of more heating of scalp and hairs. We tend to use hot oil in hair that heats up and damages fragile hair. Even we fashion our hair every special occasion which can be harmful. So, using hot combs, curling and flat irons need to be limited as per dermatologists to avoid weakening hair. Every time we should try natural ways to dry hair. Instead of using a blow dryer, wrapping a microfibre towel around hair is useful in drying hair without damage. Or else, if it’s unavoidable, the setting should be the lowest on hair blow-dryer. Smoking can be one of the harmful habits for your hair also as it causes inflation throughout the body and that worsens hair loss issues.

Food Consuming Habits

Many of the health problems are due to the food styles and habits. Hair loss can be treated with intake of sufficient food nutrients including iron or protein. Eating food with a smaller number of calories everyday can lead to hair loss. Many people start taking supplements for hair growth once they diagnose hair loss issues. But before taking the supplements, one should ensure that certain vitamins and minerals are taken in through food. However, while taking dietary supplements it should be checked if they are regulated.

Supplements with Vitamins and Minerals

Blood tests can suggest the deficiency of necessary nutrients in the body for hair health like biotin, iron and zinc. Dermatologists also suggest how to boost enough proteins. In order to avoid excess intake of certain vitamins, some dermatologists suggest multivitamins for better results. Getting more than required nutrients including selenium, Vitamin A and Vitamin C is linked with hair loss by the dermatologists. Therefore, a balanced number of vitamins should be ensured so as to avoid further losses. A due care to be taken while balancing vitamins and minerals in blood for the best results of hair loss.

Treatments for Androgenetic Alopecia

Androgenetic alopecia is a common form of hair loss both in men and women. There is a pattern of hair loss esp. temporal part of the head forming ‘m’ shaped hairlines in men.
