Reviews of Runescape Quest
"The Ali joke frees the city members the rights to OSRS gold human character, effectively making them walking jokes. There is minimal inclusivity in a joke that lumps together a civilization and slaps on a single label, especially when there is weak representation outside of the label. To mepersonally, it feels like a joke a team of people would make about others who aren't them, and they have little information about, and that's what it was. On a creative level, I also find it a lazy joke. I am aware there are lots of people championing the Feud, but no one has ever said it is their favourite quest, and the joke has never been celebrated like the names or even the White Knight names."
"You ever do the pursuit the feud? That shit had be laughing so hard, it's dumb jokes like'oh that man left to use the restroom, he might be a while since there are no bathrooms in runescape' Everything about that pursuit is funny and made me adore great written quests" Everyone is named Ali. And you understand that you've been conned from the first one simply to buy his garbage."
they aren't denied individual character right so the personalities were updated by them with in depth conversation trees? They attempt the very same jokes. But none are named Ali. The quest is a joke on itself considering it makes zero sense anymore but it was too much effort for Jagex to attempt to change it somewhat.
I liked the characters of this pursuit, and might still instantly recall some of the figures the moment I read the patchnote though its a decade since I did the quest. When pruning them all Ali had been an effort at making them all the exact same then it failed miserably. Fun quest I definitely put in my list of"old time runescape humor" alongside My Arms Large Adventure. I celebrated it like the white and ninja knight titles, and they were really shocked, once I informed some of my buddies who stopped playing that Pollnivneach changed.
The majority of the Alis in RuneScape have been given distinct names"to signify the diversity of names that we see in real life" despite most of Pollnivneans being called Ali literally being the joke behind the whole Feud quest. And not only is it a joke crucial to a pursuit, it got backing that was lore. So they threw away the thing that made a quest good and some fundamental bits of the planet because seemingly Runescape is meant to reflect reality now, despite certainly nobody carrying any actual crime for this, the change having been made purely since JMods themselves obtained offended on other people's behalf.
The change would make sense if it had been an outside contractor that understood nothing about RuneScape hired to things. From what I've gleaned from Best OSRS Gold site this sub, it does not seem like Jagex pays quite well in addition to the work culture drama, and so imagine they have a top turn-over rate. They wind up hiring people who are not invested in RuneScape at all.
